Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell Enzo Fernandez for €90 million this summer amid significant transfer interest from Real Madrid.

The Argentina international has failed to live up to his €121m price tag since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, although he has established himself as a key player under Enzo Maresca this campaign.

Fernandez has worn the captain’s armband on numerous occasions so far this season, however an exit could be on the cards this summer as Real Madrid intensify their interest ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Los Blancos were heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old following his immense 2022 World Cup campaign, but they missed out on his signature as Benfica agreed a deal to sell him to Chelsea for a Premier League record transfer fee.

Despite this, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been keeping tabs on Fernandez ever since and they are ready to sign him this summer, according to Todo Fichajes.

Real Madrid are reportedly searching for a long-term successor to Luka Modric and they have identified Fernandez as an ideal candidate to replace the Croatia legend.

In addition, the Spanish giants have also previously been tipped to include Aurelien Tchouameni in a prospective deal for Fernandez, although the Frenchman is expected to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu until at least 2026.

Chelsea to sell Enzo Fernandez?

Chelsea now have a plethora of midfield options on their books - including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos, Dario Essugo, Lesley Ugochukwu, Mathis Amougou, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka - and they are therefore reportedly willing to sell Fernandez if they receive an offer of €90m.

The Argentine currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €74.2m, while his contract at Stamford Bridge isn’t due to expire until 2032.
