Chelsea are set to sign a new centre forward during the 2025 summer transfer window, following Nicolas Jackson’s downturn in form over the festive period, while they have also been tipped to bolster their options in defence and midfield.
As a result, Kounde and Casado have emerged as potential transfer targets for the west London giants over the past few weeks, and Boehly has now intensified Chelsea’s pursuit of the pair, according to El Nacional.
The Spanish publication claim that the Chelsea co-owner has “contacted” both Kounde and Casado in a bid to convince them to leave Barcelona this summer, although he received a vastly different reaction from the two players.

The former is expected to snub interest from Chelsea in order to remain at Camp Nou for the foreseeable future, however Casado is reportedly tempted by the possibility of joining the five-time Premier League champions later this year.

Chelsea want Fermin Lopez
In addition to Kounde and Casado, Chelsea are also reportedly interested in signing their Barcelona team-mate Fermin Lopez.
The Spain international has only started six La Liga matches so far this season, amid significant competition for places at Camp Nou, and Chelsea are ready to submit a €60 million summer offer, as per El Nacional.
Fermin has just over four years remaining on his current contract at Barcelona, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €18.9m.
