EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham initiate talks to sign Angel Gomes

Tottenham Hotspur are eager to sign Lille midfielder Angel Gomes on a free transfer this summer and they have already initiated talks with his representatives, FootballTransfers understands.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are determined to bolster their squad during the 2025 summer window and we have been informed that Gomes has emerged as a key target for the north London outfit.

The 24-year-old is set to become a free agent when his current contract at Lille expires at the end of June and several Premier League clubs are interested in signing him on a Bosman deal, including Manchester United and West Ham United.
However, FootballTransfers has been told that Spurs are currently in talks with Gomes’ representatives as they look to win the race for his signature amid their pursuit of midfield reinforcements.
Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur both have less than 18 months remaining on their current deals at Tottenham, and the club are hoping to finalise a deal with Gomes shortly.

Angel Gomes to leave Lille
A Manchester United academy graduate, Gomes left Old Trafford to join Lille back in 2020 and he has established himself as a reliable performer in Ligue 1 since his arrival at the club.
The 24-year-old has made 134 appearances across all competitions for the French side, scoring 10 goals and providing 19 assists, while he made his senior debut for England against the Republic of Ireland last year.
In addition to Gomes, FootballTransfers understands that Tottenham are also interested in signing Southampton wonderkid Tyler Dibling and Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton this summer.
