Geyse says Man Utd stay ‘agonising and lonely’ after club tried to arrange loan during brother’s funeral

Manchester United have been accused of trying to broker a loan deal for Geyse while she was attending her brother’s funeral, with the player admitting that being at the club currently is ‘agonising and lonely’.
Geyse joined Man Utd from Barcelona in 2023 for a club-record fee but has struggled to settle and wants to leave.

She underlined this in a social media post while her agent told The Telegraph that the Red Devils were holding talks over her future while she was mourning her brother.
“As you know, her brother passed away, she is going through a very difficult time, it is a very difficult time psychologically and at Man United she is not having the best time,” agent Luis Filipe Silva told The Telegraph.
“She needs to regain the joy of playing football and doesn’t have it for several reasons.
“The club has clearly shown that it does not count on Geyse, Man United tried to loan Geyse to a club in the USA, but the player has the right to decide about her future and the club she will play for.
“It was clear that the club and the coach don’t count on her – the pressure of being in a place where you feel you are not wanted is tremendous. It is a huge psychological pressure. We are sad and want the best for Geyse.”

Geyse hits out at Man Utd
The player herself has broken her silence on social media with an emotional post on Instagram.
“Staying in a place where we don't feel happy is an agonising and lonely feeling,” Geyse wrote. “Every day seems heavier, and the simple fact of being there becomes a burden.
“The environment, which should be welcoming, becomes a field of discomfort, where inner peace is difficult to find. When we are not in tune with what surrounds us, the world around us loses its colour and energy.
“Sometimes, the desire for change arises as an urgent need, but the fear of the unknown or insecurity about the future can paralyse us. However, it is essential to remember that we deserve to be in places and situations that bring us happiness and fulfilment. That’s the only way we can grow.”

Geyse’s comments are simply the latest scandal to rock the management of Manchester United, which has attracted criticism across the board for the poor manner in which it treats its staff and those close to it.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe failed to recognise Katie Zelem, the former captain of the women’s team, while at Carrington, while the Ineos boss has also been slammed for staff cuts and the reduction of staff perks in recent weeks.
