Chelsea to HELP Liverpool in Alexander Isak pursuit

Chelsea reportedly remain interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.
Enzo Maresca’s side are long-term admirers of the Republic of Ireland international and they are considering a €48 million (£40m) bid amid the inconsistent form of both Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen.

That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who report that Liverpool won’t consider a sale unless they receive an “attractive” offer for the 26-year-old.
However, Kelleher, who has previously admitted that he wanted to leave Liverpool in 2024, is widely expected to depart Anfield this summer amid the imminent arrival of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Chelsea are one of frontrunners for his signature.
The goalkeeper position has been a problem for the Stamford Bridge outfit since the departure of Thibaut Courtois and they are scouring Europe for a potential new acquisition, despite the impressive form of Djordje Petrovic on loan at Strasbourg.
Kelleher is one option being explored by Clearlake Capital, with Mike Maignan (AC Milan) and Mile Svilar (AS Roma) also on the club’s radar.

Chelsea help Liverpool in Alexander Isak chase
Although Kelleher has been a reliable servant for Liverpool, the Reds will be eager to offload him this summer in a bid to raise funds for Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international has been identified as a key target for Slot’s side as they look to sign a replacement for Darwin Nunez, but Newcastle United are set to demand a Premier League record transfer fee in order to part ways with their star man.
This could prove problematic for Liverpool, although the sale of Kelleher to Chelsea would increase the transfer kitty at Slot’s disposal and could help fund a move for Isak.
The aforementioned Nunez has been linked with an Anfield departure too, while the Reds could also sell Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott and Diogo Jota following reports of significant interest in their services from multiple clubs across Europe.
