Arne Slot picks Trent replacement and tells Liverpool to make a move

Liverpool are preparing for life after Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is out of contract in the summer and expected to move to Real Madrid as a free agent.
Trent’s impact in nearly 350 games for Liverpool has been tremendous, with the 26-year-old winning a reputation as being arguably the most devastating offensive full-back in the modern game.

Replacing him will not be easy, but Arne Slot has earmarked Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong for the job and has instructed the bosses at Anfield to start putting together the groundwork for a summer move, according to TBR Football.
Competition is expected to come from Manchester City, where Frimpong went through the academy before being sold to Celtic in 2019. Both clubs have already had started talking about a deal, with City targeting two full-backs in the summer.
The player “expects” to return to the Premier League this season and is valued around €40 million by his club.
This is a bargain prince. Frimpong’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €57.2m.

Jeremie Frimpong: A like-for-like Alexander-Arnold replacement
Frimpong’s superstrength is his attacking play, which is something he has become renowned for. This season, he has three goals and four assists in the Bundesliga, while he also posts five assists in the Champions League alone.
Last term, he mustered 14 goals and 10 assists across all competitions as Xabi Alonso’s side dominated a string of competitions.

In this regard, he closely mirrors Alexander-Arnold, whose strength comes from his offensive qualities. Indeed, like the England international, the Dutchman is criticised for his defensive works.
Frimpong would, therefore, be a like-for-like replacement for Alexander-Arnold, and at the price that Leverkusen are quoting, he would also be remarkably cheap.
