Liverpool BOMBSHELL: Reds made 'MONSTROUS' offer for PSG superstar

Liverpool tabled a €100 million offer for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia last summer, according to a report.
The Reds face the Georgian and his new employers PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday evening and, in the build-up to the game, Italian transfer insider Gianluca di Marzio has dropped a veritable bombshell.
The Sky Italia journalist reports that Liverpool made a 'monstrous' €100m offer for Kvaratskhelia in the final days of summer 2024, just six months before he moved to PSG for €70m.

At the time, Napoli rejected the bid. The Serie A side were resigned to losing Victor Osimhen and made it clear that they were not willing to sell two of their superstars in the same window. They also rebuffed PSG who were willing to offer €200m for the pair.
Di Marzio reports that Liverpool were prepared to do a similar deal as with compatriot Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was signed and then loaned back to Valencia. However, despite the favourable terms, Napoli refused to budge and ultimately missed out on €30m.

Kvaratskhelia at PSG
By the time January rolled around, Kvaratskhelia had decided that he wanted out and pushed for a transfer. While his talks with PSG were ongoing, David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed, seemingly out of the blue, that Liverpool could also make a move for the Georgian.
Clearly, the transfer expert was aware of the Reds' long-standing admiration for Kvaratskhelia and perhaps he knew more than he let on. However, Liverpool did not try to reignite their talks with Napoli and the 24-year-old ended up heading to Paris.

In 10 outings for PSG, Kvaratskhelia has so far netted two goals and provided four assists. He could now haunt Liverpool in the Champions League just like he did in 2022 when he recorded an assist en route to a 4-1 thrashing in Naples.
