The Sweden international has been tipped to leave St James’ Park if they fail to secure Champions League qualification this season and Man Utd have now expressed their interest in signing him amid their pursuit of a new striker.

Ruben Amorim is desperate to bring a centre forward to Old Trafford this summer, following the recent struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, and Isak has emerged as a key transfer target for the Red Devils, as per Mundo Deportivo.

Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres have also been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd this summer, although the 13-time Premier League champions will need to sell a number of first-team stars before they are able to sign significant reinforcements later this year.

Amorim is looking to offload both Marcus Rashford and Antony on permanent deals this summer, while Man Utd could look to raise funds for Isak by selling homegrown talents Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

Isak, 25, was linked with a move to Old Trafford during his time at Real Sociedad but despite renewed interest from Man Utd, the Red Devils are unlikely to complete a deal unless they qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League this year.

Alexander Isak to leave Newcastle?

Isak has scored 21 goals and provided five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at a career high of €76.7 million.

However, Newcastle will reportedly demand a fee in excess of €150m to sanction a sale this summer, with Isak’s contract at the club not due to expire until 2028.

Arsenal and Barcelona are also interested in signing the Sweden international, with the former identifying him as a “dream” signing, according to multiple reports.
