Crystal Palace have slapped a £100 million price tag on Adam Wharton, according to a report.

The England international has been a revelation for the Eagles since joining in January 2024. Wharton has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League and even made the Three Lions squad for Euro 2024.

The 21-year-old has gone from strength to strength, although recovery from groin surgery sidelined him for several months between November and February.

Since his return, however, Wharton has been playing like a man determined to make up for lost time. Unsurprisingly, his form is once again attracting the attention of other Premier League sides.

Man Utd and Man City have been linked with the midfielder, but they are far from his only suitors.

Wharton's price and transfer stance

According to TBR Football, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been left very impressed by Wharton's development over the past year. In fact, Chelsea were among the clubs vying for his signature when it became clear that he could leave Blackburn.

Intriguingly, the outlet does not mention Man Utd's interest even though they have been one of the sides most persistently linked with Wharton. However, there may be a good reason for this as they likely wouldn't be able to afford him anyway.

The report claims that Crystal Palace believe Wharton could command a similar fee to Declan Rice's then-British record £105m move from West Ham to Arsenal in 2023.

It is stated that the Eagles have informed Wharton's suitors that they must pay at least £100m (€120m) to stand a chance of signing him this summer.

The 21-year-old is under contract until 2029 and is said to be in no rush to leave Selhurst Park, putting Crystal Palace in an excellent negotiating position.
