Manchester United target Angel Gomes will '100 per cent leave Lille' this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 24-year-old has been a revelation since leaving Man Utd in 2020. Gomes has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1 in the wake of his move to Lille, even becoming a full-fledged England international.

However, the diminutive playmaker's time with Les Dogues is coming to an end. Gomes is out of contract in the summer and he is unwilling to commit to a new long-term deal with the French side.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Gomes will '100 per cent leave Lille' at the end of the season. A move back to the Premier League seems likely, although the Italian suggests that Germany could also be a destination for the Englishman.

"The Premier League is a possibility for Angel Gomes while clubs in the Bundesliga have also asked for information from his new agents," Romano told GIVEMESPORT. "He will 100 per cent leave Lille."

Gomes back to Man Utd?

Gomes has been persistently linked with a return to Man Utd in recent months seeing as though Ruben Amorim's club are forced to pinch pennies. A free transfer signing of a full England international who already knows the club is seen as a perfect 'market opportunity.'

The player himself has previously admitted that it would be difficult to turn down the chance to return to Old Trafford due to his ‘sentimental soft spot’ for the Red Devils after coming through the club's academy.

Whether he will ultimately end up at Man Utd remains to be seen as they are far from the only side associated with the 24-year-old. Tottenham have also been heavily linked with a move for Gomes.

One thing is already clear, though, his time at Lille is drawing to a close.
