Man Utd 'DESPERATE' to complete summer deal for €90m star

Manchester United are reportedly “desperate” to sell Harry Maguire this summer as they look to sign Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite as his replacement.
The Red Devils triggered a one-year extension option in Maguire’s contract in January, but his new deal is set to expire in 2026 and the club are eager to offload him in order to fund a move for Branthwaite.

That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Man Utd are “desperate” to sell Maguire during the 2025 summer transfer window, with Ruben Amorim’s side aiming to reduce his salary from their wage bill and recoup a transfer fee.
The 32-year-old has only started 15 Premier League matches so far this campaign, and he has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit for the best part of two seasons amid reported interest from West Ham United.
Man Utd have now decided to sell Maguire this summer, although they may reportedly encounter difficulty in their bid to offload the ex-Leicester City star due to his wage demands.

Man Utd want Jarrad Branthwaite
Despite Ayden Heaven’s impressive start to life at Man Utd, following his arrival from Arsenal during the January transfer window, the Red Devils are expected to sign a new centre-back if Maguire departs this summer.
Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is on the club’s radar, but Branthwaite has been identified as a key target by INEOS, as per TEAMtalk.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a stellar stint at Goodison Park over the past 18 months, after returning from a successful loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, and Man Utd are eager to complete a deal this year.
However, Everton are reportedly set to demand a transfer fee of around €90 million in order to sanction a sale.
The Toffees are determined to retain Branthwaite’s services for another year and will only permit a departure if they receive an eye-watering offer.
