Rasmus Hojlund is more likely to stay than to leave Manchester United this summer, according to a report.

The Danish striker has had a hugely disappointing campaign to date. Only recently did he manage to end a months-long scoring drought and he has generally failed to live up to expectations since joining in 2023.

His lack of form and Man Utd's need to raise funds have given rise to speculation that the 22-year-old could leave Old Trafford again after just two years. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Saturday that a summer exit is indeed a possibility.

"Man Utd are really planning to bring in an important striker in the summer transfer window and so I'm told that clubs are starting to reach out to Man Utd and people close to Hojlund to understand his availability for the summer, how much he could cost," Romano said.

"There is interest in Hojlund and there could be movement... In case Man Utd receive a good proposal it could be an opportunity. So Hojlund is going to be one to watch in the summer with interest from several countries, including Italy, where he did very well as an Atalanta player."

Hojlund to ruin Osimhen transfer

As Romano stated, Man Utd are planning to sign an 'important' striker this summer and Victor Osimhen is one name persistently associated with the Red Devils.

There have even been rumours that Man Utd could look to offer a player like Hojlund or Alejandro Garnacho to Napoli in exchange for Osimhen. This may seem far-fetched, but it actually can't be discounted out of hand, according to The Athletic's Man Utd insider Laurie Whitwell.

However, it remains to be seen whether Hojlund will be the player offered up or whether he will flush much-needed funds into Man Utd's coffers. Not everybody is convinced that the Dane will leave Manchester this summer.

In fact, GIVEMESPORT reports that the 22-year-old is actually more likely to remain a Man Utd player beyond this season than he is to leaving the club, which could jeopardise any hopes the Red Devils may have of signing Osimhen.
