Barcelona ‘BET EVERYTHING’ on Mohamed Salah

Barcelona are ready to break the bank to take Mohamed Salah to Camp Nou in the summer from Liverpool.
Barca have been linked with a string of blockbuster summer transfers, with Neymar and Lionel Messi both linked with a return to the Catalan side.

But it’s now Salah that Hansi Flick’s side are targeting, with the Liverpool icon available as a free agent at the end of June due to his expiring contract.
Barcelona will “bet everything” on signing Salah this summer, according to FootMercato, with the Blaugrana ready to act on long-standing interest in the Egypt international striker, who at 32 remains a leading contender to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or thanks to his devastating performances for Arne Slot’s side this season.
While Liverpool are working to tie Salah down to a new contract, there is interest from elsewhere.
In particular, the Saudi Pro League is linked with a world-record offer for the veteran attacker, while PSG have also been mentioned as a potential destination for the winger, who has 32 goals and 22 assists in 43 appearances this season.

Barcelona’s Salah dilemma
Moving for Salah is not a straightforward choice for Barcelona. With limited financial means, chasing the Egyptian will likely mean ditching other targets, and with the attacker in the latter stages of his career, this does not come without risk.
In particular, Barca are interested in signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool, with the Colombia winger likely available for the right price. However, that fee will likely be one out of Hansi Flick’s side. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €69.6 million.
Any deal for Salah could have the unintended consequence of permanently blocking a move for Diaz, who has said his “dream” is to play for Barcelona.

What has Salah said about his future?
Salah has not committed to any decision ahead of the summer but has repeatedly dropped hints suggesting he could leave Liverpool.
"It's my last year at the club and I want to do something special for the city," he told Sky Sports when asked about his ambition to win the Premier League.
"It's the last six months. There is no progress [on contract talks]. We are far away from any progress, so we just have to wait and see."
He later told TNT Sports when asked about his legacy: “I just want Liverpool fans to remember that I was here for eight years and I gave everything. I want the fans to remember that I gave everything for them, everything for this city. I loved football, I gave everything for it and I wasn't lazy. I think that's what it's about, they give you love, you have a connection with the fans because you give everything.”
The door is open for Barcelona, then, to complete a remarkable move.
