Chelsea RIP OFF Man Utd: Sancho revelation changes EVERYTHING

Despite boasting a purchase obligation as part of their loan deal, Chelsea may not be obliged to sign Jadon Sancho after all, according to a report.
The former England international joined the Blues last summer after being banished from Manchester United by Erik ten Hag. Sancho had fallen out with the Dutchman in 2023 and was finally axed in 2024.
Chelsea signed Sancho on an initial loan deal but with the obligation to make the move permanent if they finish above 15th in the Premier. Depending on their final position, they would have to pay between €25 million and €30m for the former €85m man.

Given that Chelsea are fighting for a place in the Champions League, the purchase obligation is expected to be triggered, finally ridding Man Utd of a player that has caused them so many headaches.
However, despite showing some promise, Sancho hasn't really set the world alight at Chelsea either and it has now been claimed that they could opt against signing him.

Chelsea to send Sancho back to Man Utd?
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea could simply back out of their purchase obligation if they can't manage to reach an agreement with Sancho on contract terms.
Usually, if a loan contains an option or obligation to be made permanent, the club and the player will agree on a long-term contract before the deal is completed.

However, this was not done when Sancho moved to Chelsea, meaning that the West London giants will have to sit down and negotiate a contract with the 24-year-old. Failure to agree terms could force them to buy him and then sell him on.
Or, the report claims, it gives them the opportunity to opt against utilising their purchase obligation, so Sancho could be sent back to Man Utd. Should Chelsea head down this route, they would incur a financial penalty, although it is not specified how severe this punishment would be.
This would force Man Utd to once again look for a potential buyer for Sancho, distracting them from much more important business. Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently fumed that the Red Devils are paying the winger half his wages just so that he can play for Chelsea.
