Arsenal are reportedly aiming to complete a €30 million deal for Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss this summer.

The Morocco international joined Leicester from KRC Genk last year and he has been a rare bright spark during a dismal 2024-25 campaign for the Foxes.

The 20-year-old has scored three goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions since his arrival at the King Power Stadium, and his form has attracted the attention of Arsenal.

That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Arsenal have already engaged in negotiations to sign El Khannouss this summer, with the Gunners viewing him as “a promising young talent.”

Leicester have reportedly accepted they will be required to sell El Khannouss following their relegation back down to the Championship and they have set their initial asking price at €30m - which is far below his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €40.6m.

Arsenal have reportedly emerged as one of the more likely candidates to sign the Morocco youngster this summer, amid their pursuit of a player capable of deputising for club captain Martin Odegaard, and they are expected to step up their pursuit ahead of the 2025 summer window.

Arsenal’s summer transfer plans

While El Khannouss has reportedly established himself as a transfer target for Arsenal, the north London giants are expected to prioritise several other players before attempting to finalise an agreement with Leicester.

Joan Garcia is seen as the club’s ideal goalkeeper target, while they are also hoping to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Athletic Club winger Nico Williams and Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres as Mikel Arteta aims to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next year.

FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are also in talks to sign Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski, although the club are set to miss out on Rosenborg wonderkid Sverre Nypan as he is now expected to join Aston Villa instead.
