Mikel Arteta confirms RECORD-BREAKING Arsenal transfer window

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has promised a 'big' summer transfer window following the appointment of Andrea Berta.
On Sunday, the Gunners officially unveiled Berta as their new sporting director. The Italian attained a sparkling reputation during his time at Atletico Madrid and he was chosen for his experience, proficiency in Spanish and extensive LaLiga connections.

Manager Arteta hailed the hire of Berta as a game-changer for Arsenal and, indeed, the director has ambitious plans that match those of the Spaniard.
After failing to win the Premier League title in what many expected would be Arsenal's season, the North London club are planning to go big in the upcoming summer window to rectify the situation.
It has been suggested that it could be a record-breaking transfer period for the Gunners with as much as €360 million spent on major acquisitions, although such an investment would, of course, also have to be partially funded by sales.

Arteta confirms summer plans
Arsenal are planning to add a striker, with Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak among the top targets for the position. They also want to add at least two midfielders. Martin Zubimendi will be one, but the Gunners also want to add one or two younger midfielders.
Additionally, the wings are set to be bolstered. Nico Williams has been made a priority by Arteta, while it has been claimed that talks have taken place with Leroy Sane, too. A backup goalkeeper - and potentially a third choice - is also needed, while a left-back could join as well.

Arsenal are expected to be very busy indeed this summer and Arteta has now confirmed that it will be a 'big' window for the club. “It’s going to be a big one and we are very excited about it," Arteta said, as per The Mirror.
“The way we planned the five first summers, they were going to be very big and they were going to have different objectives because the turnaround of players and the objective of those windows was going to be different.
“But now when you are going to go again, we want to increase the depth of the squad but as well we want to increase the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step.”
