The Sweden international has notched 85 goals in 92 games since joining Sporting CP from Coventry City back in 2023 and he is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in European football following his immense form over the past 18 months.
However, Deeney isn’t convinced that Gyokeres is the right man for Arsenal.

Troy Deeney believes Viktor Gyokeres isn’t the perfect signing for Arsenal
During an interview with talkSPORT, Deeney was asked whether Gyokeres would be a better fit for Arsenal or Manchester United, who have also been linked with a move for the 26-year-old.
“I genuinely think he's a good footballer, he works really hard, all of that, but I don't think he's a natural finisher,” Deeney admitted.

“And again, everyone is going to pull up his goal record, I get that.
“But I don't think he takes either of those two to winning the Premier League. That's just my opinion, and if he did, they'd have already bought him.”
In addition to Gyokeres and Isak, Arsenal are also monitoring the situation of Benjamin Sesko at RB Leipzig, and FootballTransfers understands that a move to the Emirates Stadium is still on the cards for the Slovenia international.
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins remains on the Gunners’ radar too, while the likes of Victor Osimhen, Jonathan David and Liam Delap have all been linked with a switch to north London this summer.
