Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in re-signing Jadon Sancho as a replacement for Chelsea target Jamie Gittens this summer.

Sancho, 25, is currently on loan at Chelsea from Manchester United and Enzo Maresca’s side are currently expected to sign him on a permanent deal for a fee of around €30 million due to an obligation to buy clause.

However, the Blues have the option to pay a penalty fee of €6m in order to break this agreement and send Sancho back to Old Trafford this summer.

Despite this, the early indications suggest that Sancho is expected to join Chelsea on a permanent deal, although Dortmund are monitoring his situation as they prepare for Gittens’ potential departure, as per The Daily Mail.

With Chelsea eyeing a summer move for Gittens and Sancho possibly set to return to Dortmund as a result, the potential for a swap deal is certainly on the cards, and it’s a solution that could suit all parties.

Chelsea would land one of their key transfer targets, Gittens would be presented with the opportunity to return to England, and Sancho would have the opportunity to rediscover his form at Dortmund once again.

Jadon Sancho at Chelsea

Sancho enjoyed a promising start to life at Chelsea, registering an assist in each of his first three Premier League appearances for the club, but his form has nosedived ever since.

The former England international is without a goal contribution in his last 13 matches across all competitions, and a large majority of Blues supporters have called for academy graduate Tyrique George to displace Sancho in the starting XI at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, the summer arrival of Estevao Willian is expected to have a direct impact on Sancho’s game time, while Chelsea’s pursuit of a new right-footed winger could push the 25-year-old towards the exit door.
