Chelsea told to pay €40m for Jadon Sancho UPGRADE

Chelsea have been quoted a €40 million price tag for Real Betis youngster Jesus Rodriguez, according to a report.
The 19-year-old has been one of LaLiga's breakout stars this season after being integrated into the Verdiblancos' senior side by Manuel Pellegrini. Rodriguez is a tricky left-winger who terrorised Real Madrid's defence last month.

The teenager is far from the finished product, but his potential is evident. His final product still needs quite a bit of work as he has so far only managed four goals and four assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
Rodriguez was on target on Thursday as Real Betis cruised past Polish side Jagiellona in their Europa League quarter-final first leg. His emergence hasn't gone unnoticed and, unsurprisingly, Chelsea are keeping tabs on him.
The Blues are keeping a close eye on Spanish football, and Rodriguez has been on their radar for some time. Signing him, however, could prove quite pricey.

Chelsea told Rodriguez price
According to the Daily Mail, Real Betis are 'holding out' for a fee in the region of €40 million for Rodriguez. Chelsea are in the market for a left-winger this summer amid ongoing uncertainty over Mykhailo Mudryk and Jadon Sancho.
There has been basically complete radio silence on Mudryk since his provisional ban for allegedly failing a drugs test last year, which suggests that there is something more serious afoot.

As for Sancho, the above-mentioned report claims that he is 'likely' to return to Man Utd this summer, which seems strange. Chelsea do have an option to send the loanee back to his parent club, but they would incur a €6 million penalty.
This is why a return to Old Trafford has been deemed a lose-lose scenario for all involved as Sancho has no future at Man Utd, while Chelsea would surely be better off signing him permanently and selling him on.
Whatever the case, Chelsea are known to be in the market for a left-winger and Rodriguez has been deemed an ideal option by the Blues hierarchy after establishing himself as a fan favourite at his boyhood club.
