Chelsea 'updated' Mykhailo Mudryk's contract at some point over the last year, the FA has revealed.

The Ukrainian winger hasn't been seen or heard from since December 17, when he was hit with a provisional doping ban by the FA for allegedly failing a drugs test.

At the time, it was announced that updates on the situation would be provided in due course following an evaluation of a B Sample, however, there has been complete radio silence on that front for exactly four months now.

Supporters and the media have been completely left in the dark as to the current status of Mudryk, but the fact that there has been no news whatsoever on the case suggests that his ban may be more than just 'provisional' at this point.

Still, without actual updates on the matter, Mudryk's current situation and future at Chelsea remain shrouded in mystery.

Mudryk's 'contract update'

As things stand, Mudryk remains on the books at Stamford Bridge and, as the Daily Mail points out, it has now been disclosed that the Ukrainian recently received a 'mysterious contract update.'

On Monday, the Football Association published its annual document detailing the transactions and personnel movements at English clubs, including contract changes, in the period between February 2, 2024 and February 3, 2025.

It was already known that the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer were handed improved deals last year, but the document also revealed that Mudryk had his 'contract updated' in that timeframe.

The document itself did not reveal any specifics of the amendment, prompting the Daily Mail to dig deeper into the matter. Unfortunately, the outlet states that it is 'not at liberty' to divulge what happened. The date of the 'update' is also not indicated.

It is stated, however, that it was 'nothing major' and 'merely an administrative tweak.' This suggests that Mudryk has so far not had to face the same treatment as Paul Pogba, who had his salary slashed by Juventus to just €2,000 per month after his doping ban.
