Darwin Nunez goes TOXIC: Liverpool striker seals exit with deleted social media rant

Darwin Nunez looks increasingly likely to depart Liverpool this summer, with the Uruguay international posting an incredible social media rant that seemed to target manager Arne Slot.
Although the Dutchman has guided Liverpool to their second title of the Premier League era – with the trophy set to be secured on Sunday when the Reds host Tottenham Hotspur – he has been unable to keep every member of his squad happy.
Nunez is one of those who has grown frustrated with his role under the former Feyenoord boss. The striker recently walked out of training and missed the following fixture against West Ham United because of “illness”.
Now he has gone public on his frustration at Liverpool and, apparently, with Slot.
What did Darwin Nunez’s deleted X post say?
Nunez took to X to post his frustration at the position he finds himself in.
“No wonder I didn’t play more, because the last time in the Premier League went well and suddenly…” Darwin said in a post that was hastily deleted.
Nunez is referring to the clash against Southampton on 8 March, in which he scored one and won a penalty as the Reds came from behind to pick up a 3-1 victory.

It is the striker’s overall contribution rather than a match-winning display against a side that will go down as one of the worst in Premier League history, that has frustrated Slot. The South American has only seven goals in 42 appearances in all competitions.
Meanwhile, there are rumours that Liverpool will have to pay Benfica another €5m as a bonus payment when Nunez, the Reds' most expensive signing ever, starts his next Premier League match.
Slot was tight-lipped on those when he spoke to the media on Friday, stating: “Sometimes it’s better not to believe everything that is written about players. It’s completely new to me.”
What appears clear, though, is that Nunez is set to leave Liverpool in the summer.
