Sancho’s future confirmed

Romano says that Jadon Sancho will not remain at Man Utd in the summer – even if Chelsea refuse to complete their purchase of the former Borussia Dortmund winger.

“Let me clarify something on Jadon Sancho,” Romano told his YouTube channel. “I told you that Chelsea have an obligation to buy with a £25 million package. That’s an important part of the story, but they have a clause worth £5m to send Sancho back to Man Utd.

“My information is that even if Chelsea send Sancho back to Man Utd, the plan for them is not to continue together. The priority for Sancho is to stay at Chelsea. If Chelsea send him back, the expectation is for Sancho not to stay at Man Utd – it would take something crazy and completely different from the coach. It’s not seen realistic or normal.

“The impact of Sancho in the final games of the season will be important. But for sure his future is not expected to be linked to Man Utd.”

Ronaldo rumour dismissed as Al-Nassr target Liverpool star

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, has been linked with a sensational hookup with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami for the FIFA Club World Cup.

It is a claim that Romano has denied in the strongest terms.

“In recent weeks, we’ve heard Cristiano Ronaldo is considering going to Inter Miami to play with Lionel Messi. It’s completely bulls**t. Ronaldo never started any conversations with Miami – there was zero in these reports,” Romano said.

“Cristiano is not having any concrete negotiations with clubs over a short-term contract. He’s speaking with Al-Nassr over his contract. That’s the situation. The conversation is on. We’ll follow this but it’s not true he’s not negotiating with other clubs.

“For Al-Nassr, it’s important to build a squad around Cristiano. It’s already good but they need to add more players. They want more like Ronaldo. “

One player who Al-Nassr are looking at to partner Cristiano is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, Romano has confirmed.

He said: “They maintain their interest in Luis Diaz. From Saudi, they were interested in January but decided to stay with Liverpool and focus on Liverpool’s season. They’re still there.

“Luis Diaz will have to make a decision. From Saudi, they’re interested. Let’s see what he wants to do. There was interest from Manchester City last summer. It’s one to follow.”

Lookman on the move

Romano also confirmed that Ademola Lookman will leave Atalanta in the summer after his spectacular fall out with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

“My information is that Lookman will leave Atalanta in the summer. The decision has been made. His agents have already started to working on solutions. The relationship is broken with Gasperini, so the way is very clear.

“There was an agreement for him to leave last summer, but after Atalanta sold Teun Koopmeiners to Juventus for big money, they didn’t want it to happen. So the player was not so happy with the situation. He expected to go. He was thinking about the Premier League, there was interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, and there was also interest from PSG. He was unhappy and then new problems with Gasperini.

“Now it’s time to move. He’s appreciated by Juventus. In England, there are several clubs exploring the situation. Let’s see what happens.”
