Reyna told to leave Dortmund: USMNT star can be reborn at this Premier League club

Gio Reyna’s Borussia Dortmund career is over. The USMNT star has been told to find himself a new club this summer, putting the 22-year-old at a career crossroads.
Once considered one of the most promising prospects in the world, Reyna has so far failed to live up to his exciting reputation.
Indeed, this season has effectively been a write-off for the 32-cap US international. He has played only 568 minutes of football across 22 appearances and has not played a single Bundesliga minute since the beginning of March.
With a deal touted for in-form Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki, Bild now reports that Reyna’s time is up.
Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy explains: “There was a hope among Borussia Dortmund fans and USMNT supporters that Reyna would be the next Christian Pulisic. It would have been the fairytale story, but the BVB winger never lived up to the hype or the comparisons.
“Part of that is because Dortmund these days is a harder place to develop thanks to the team's inconsistency on and off the pitch. Part of that is because Reyna just isn't as good as Pulisic was. He's still only 22, so maybe he'll develop better elsewhere. Maybe him leaving would be best for everyone.”
Reyna’s career trajectory is outlined by his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) history, which saw him peak above €50m but has since crashed to €13.9m.

Three outstanding options for Reyna
Reyna’s career may have stalled, but it’s far from over. His next move, however, will be vital.
SciSports believe his best option is to move to the Premier League with Bournemouth. Indeed, the Cherries score a colossal 84 on its Career Advice algorithm, which is designed to show the optimal transfer for a player based on various factors from potential development and game time to playing style and formation.
Bournemouth score impressively across the board, offering Reyna both the opportunity to hone his skills and earn first-team football at a highly competitive Premier League side.

Andoni Iraola’s side also meet with his needs in terms of formation, and even if their style is less well suited, it’s far from bad.
An alternative option comes from Napoli in Serie A, with the Italian club boasting a Club Fit of 83.
Rounding out the best of Reyna’s options are Everton. The Goodison outfit have a Club Fit score of 79, faring less well in terms of development and formation for this still rising star, who still has the capacity to go all the way to the top after this setback at Dortmund.
