Arsenal are planning a blockbuster summer spend that will see Mikel Arteta’s side revolutionised.

Although the Gunners eased past Real Madrid 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday, there is a widespread belief that more firepower is required if the Emirates side are to secure their long-awaited Premier League title.

The board, alongside new sporting director Andrea Berta, are set to deliver on that front.

Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to join the club for a fee in the region of €70 million.

On top of this, FootballTransfers has revealed that the Gunners are in pole position to land Nico Williams from Athletic Club to bolster their attacking midfield options. His release fee is set at €58m.

And a third deal that is already close to fruition is Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. He may not be a player to contribute heavily in an offensive sense, but the Spain international is expected to lay a platform for others to shine. He also has a release clause of €60m.

While these players will cost an estimated €190m, TodoFichajes claims that Arsenal could spend a further €40m more on top of this. On which player is unclear, yet Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia has been heavily linked with a summer transfer to the Emirates.

What is evident is that there is a hunger to improve the squad.

Arsenal 2025/26: How the Gunners will line up

A familiar defence is expected to take to the field, with David Raya in goal behind William Saliba and Gabriel in the centre. They will be flanked by Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who could beat off the challenge of Jurrien Timber.

In the midfield, Zubimendi is expected to step in and play alongside Declan Rice, the hero of the hour against Real Madrid.

There will be no displacing Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, of course, but Nico Williams could take Gabriel Martinelli’s position on the left.

Finally, Gyokeres will act as the spearhead to Arsenal, providing them with the pure centre-forward that some fans have been crying out for this season.

A lavish transfer window is planned, but it’s one that leave Arteta’s side looking every inch Premier League title contenders.
