Arsenal and Man Utd in ‘very interested’ in Argentine sensation compared to Bernardo Silva

Arsenal and Manchester United are among the teams said to be “very interested” in River Plate sensation Ian Subiabre, a teenager compared to Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene in Argentina in recent weeks and scored his first senior for the club against Rosario Central in a 2-2 draw on 30 March.
This form has attracted attention from Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle United.
Now Arsenal and Manchester United have joined their Premier League rivals in chasing the teenager, according to Sebastian Sur.
Taking to X, the journalist says: “I’ll tell you that Arsenal and Man Utd are very interest in the kid from Comodoro. The interest is strong.”
Ian Subiabre: The next Julian Alvarez or Bernardo Silva?
Subiabre is regarded as a versatile attacking player, who can either feature as a winger or a forward.
“I'm a powerful, high-scoring striker. And strong in one-on-one situations. I like to drop back to link up with my teammates and provide assists. I can also play on the right or left wing,” he explained in 2023 before admitting that Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid striker who enjoyed much success at Man City, is his role model.
“Julian Alvarez is an extraordinary player. For me, he's an example. He has skill, he's a scorer, and he's constantly pressing. He understands the game perfectly.”

Despite his own desire to model his game on Alvarez, his positioning in a wide area has seen him likened to another Manchester City star: Bernardo Silva.
There are few areas in which his game is said to need to improve, though as a lightweight player, he needs to bulk up before having a chance of making it in England’s top-flight.
Nevertheless, there are clearly numerous Premier League clubs who believe he is capable of doing just this, with Arsenal and Man Utd the latest to join the queue of teams eager to sign him.
