Liverpool look to repeat Mane trick with big money transfer for PERFECT Salah successor

Liverpool could still target a successor to Mohamed Salah this summer, with a big money move being lined-up for a ready-made replacement to the Egyptian.
Salah committed his future to Liverpool earlier this week, keeping him at Anfield until 2027, at which point he will be 35 years old.

Although Salah is having one of the most prolific seasons of his career, Liverpool are aware that their talismanic forward could still decline or be sold next summer if Saudi Arabia continue their long-standing interest in him.
Consequently, Liverpool are considering signing a player who could rotate with Salah this season and eventually take his spot in the team, leading the club to Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, according to The Sun.
Mbeumo has been a standout performer for Brentford in the Premier League this season, which has caught the eye of Liverpool’s scouts after watching the Cameroonian in action at numerous times this year.
The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with Brentford and, while the Bees have an option to extend for a further 12 months, they are thought to have placed a price tag of £50 million (€58.3m) on their star man.

Liverpool could face strong competition for Mbeumo signature
Only Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland have scored more goals than Mbeumo in the Premier League this season, with the right-sided forward having his most productive campaign yet.
With Brentford maintaining one of the smallest budgets in the Premier League, Thomas Frank’s side would be reluctantly willing to cash in on their top scorer for the right amount and allow him to make the step up to a bigger side.
Such a move would be reminiscent of Liverpool’s capture of Sadio Mane from Southampton in 2016 and would provide Arne Slot’s men with some much-needed firepower outside of Salah.

However, Newcastle are believed to be interested in Mbeumo as well and could offer him a greater opportunity of first team football, especially if they secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.
Arsenal are also long-term admirers of Mbeumo, giving Liverpool a difficult battle to sign the Brentford man, although their interest would be a strong indication that the Reds are ready to back Slot in the transfer market this summer.
