Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma as Arne Slot looks to oversee a major revamp of his forward line this summer.

The Reds are on course to secure only their second Premier League title in history, but Slot is eager to conduct several pieces of meaningful transfer business during the 2025 summer window.

Darwin Nunez is almost guaranteed to leave Anfield ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, with multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia eyeing a possible deal, while Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have also been tipped to leave the club amid their inconsistent form this season.

Liverpool won’t need to sign a replacement for Mohamed Salah, however, following news of his lucrative contract extension, but they are expected to sign at least one new attacker this summer.

Slot has even dropped a major transfer hint by confirming that Liverpool “will make this team very strong next season,” suggesting several high-profile signings could be set to arrive at Anfield this year.

Liverpool want Alexander Isak and Kaoru Mitoma

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak remains a priority target for the Reds, although Eddie Howe’s side are reportedly set to demand a transfer fee of €174 million (£150m) as they look to ward off suitors.

In addition, TEAMtalk have now reported that Mitoma is also on Liverpool’s radar amid Slot’s pursuit of a new-look forward line.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr launched two unsuccessful bids for the Japan international during the January transfer window, and have been tipped to rekindle their interest this summer, while Chelsea are also known admirers of the 27-year-old.

However, Liverpool are reportedly hoping to win the race for his signature.

Mitoma is eager to leave Brighton this summer, as per TEAMtalk, although the Seagulls are expected to demand €93m (£80m) in order to part ways with the winger, with his current contract not due to expire until 2027.

Mitoma has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 36 games so far this season, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €49.2m, and he is viewed as a player capable of bolstering Liverpool’s attack next campaign.
