Man Utd get price warning over ‘IDEAL’ Casemiro replacement: Amorim needs to ignore it

Manchester United have been given an update on the price of one of Ruben Amorim’s major summer transfer targets by football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano.
Romano says that previous estimations of the price of Atalanta midfielder Ederson are off the mark.
While this report is logical, it’s up to Man Utd and Amorim to strike a deal because the Brazil international still represents strong value for money as the Red Devils seek to overhaul their squad this summer.
United are targeting quickfire moves for Matheus Cunha of Wolves and Liam Delap this summer, but the squad will still need a dynamic midfield replacement for Casemiro. Ederson perfectly fits this bill, with the midfielder described as “ideal” for the Old Trafford side.
Unfortunately for the Red Devils, previous reports that indicated he would be available for a bargain fee are off the mark.
Romano says on GiveMeSport: “Sources close to Atalanta have guaranteed that they ‘want more, probably way more than this to make the deal happen.’”

Ederson is built for Amorim’s needs
Man Utd need to find a way around this issue. A price tag of €45m for Ederson was never likely to be viable, with the 25-year-old having an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €59.2m.
There is, therefore, plenty of room for United to still secure a fair price for the midfielder who is perfectly build to become Casemiro’s Old Trafford heir.
Ederson, meanwhile, provides the athletic qualities that the Man Utd midfield is currently lacking. Not only is he quick, his engine is excellent, allowing him to cover the type of ground that Amorim would ideally demand of his central midfield players.

On top of this, Ederson is a relatively strong fit for Man Utd, according to data analytics experts SciSports.
Based on their Career Advice tool, the Red Devils get a Club Fit score of 69, which is calculated using a variety of factors from playing time and development to formation and style.
Ederson would, crucially, be able to come into the squad and make a strong impact from the outset based on game-time estimates.

One aspect really knocking down United as an option for him is a lack of development, but as one of the biggest clubs in the world, the Old Trafford outfit can lure the Atalanta star with the glamour and respect that comes with playing in their colours.
And while 69 is not necessarily an impressive Club Fit score, there are few clubs that can offer significantly better. Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Roma are the three exceptions.
So while United may be forced to pay more than they may have been led to believe for Ederson, the Atalanta midfielder should very much remain a transfer target for Amorim as the window approaches.
