The 29-year-old has been heavily criticised for a number of high-profile errors in recent weeks and Ruben Amorim is eager to bring a new goalkeeper to Old Trafford ahead of the new season.

Onana joined Man Utd for €50.2m from Inter Milan back in 2023, but they are now open to offloading the Cameroon international for a measly €23.3m, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that Onana could be set to retain his place as Man Utd’s first-choice goalkeeper next season, despite his recent form, although the Red Devils will consider a sale if their asking price is met.

Royal Antwerp shot-stopper Senne Lammens has been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd this summer, while James Trafford, Zion Suzuki, Aaron Ramsdale and Lucas Chevalier have also been tipped to join the club amid Onana’s uncertain long-term future.

Man Utd’s summer transfer plans

A key reason why Onana may reportedly remain at Man Utd is due to the fact that Amorim is determined to strengthen other areas of his first-team squad before addressing the goalkeeper position.

According to The Mirror, the Man Utd boss is hoping to bring in a striker, a centre-back, at least one wing-back and two central midfielders before the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap and Hugo Ekitike have all been touted as centre forward targets for the Old Trafford outfit, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both linked with premature exits amid their struggles to adapt to Premier League football.

Meanwhile, Amorim is eager to acquire a new wing-back, despite the arrival of Patrick Dorgu in January, although top target Geovany Quenda has already agreed to join Chelsea in 2026.
