Fernandes to be sacrificed as Man Utd prepare €100m Real Madrid offer

Manchester United are set to submit a €100 million offer for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Uruguay international is one of Los Blancos’ most important players and his current contract with Carlo Ancelotti’s side isn’t due to expire until 2029.

However, Man Utd are set to test Real Madrid’s resolve with a €100m summer bid, as per Fichajes.
The Spanish publication claim that Ruben Amorim has set his sights on completing an ambitious deal for Valverde amid Man Utd’s pursuit of a new central midfielder.
Christian Eriksen, Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro may all leave Old Trafford during the 2025 summer transfer window, and the Red Devils are aiming to significantly bolster their options in the middle of the park ahead of the new campaign.
Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton has been linked with a move to Man Utd in recent weeks, although the 13-time Premier League champions have now reportedly turned their attention to pursuing a move for Valverde.

Bruno Fernandes to join Real Madrid?
Man Utd’s reported interest in Valverde follows speculation that Real Madrid will pursue a €106m (£90m) move for Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes this summer.
The 30-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s outstanding performers since his move to Old Trafford in January 2020 and Real Madrid have reportedly identified him as a suitable candidate to replace club legend Luka Modric at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Fernandes has two years remaining on his current Man Utd contract and Ruben Amorim has insisted that he has no intention of allowing the Portugal star to depart during the 2025 summer transfer window.
However, a swap deal involving Valverde and Fernandes could be possible following recent reports, and Man Utd are unlikely to have the funds available to sign the Uruguayan unless at least one key player is sold.
