Man Utd in talks over deal for Matheus Cunha - Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United are negotiating a deal for Matheus Cunha, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Wolves striker is one of the Premier League's most intriguing commodities heading into the summer transfer window. Despite only signing a new deal in February, Cunha has stated that he is looking to take the next step in his career.

The Brazilian has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, but it was recently reported that these heavyweights have developed increasing doubts over signing him due to some of his antics on and off the pitch.
Man Utd, his other big suitors, were not put off by these 'red flags' and it seems that they remain very keen on the versatile forward. So much so, in fact, that Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that talks have officially started.
The Italian transfer insider states that negotiations on personal terms with the 25-year-old are currently taking place and that there are 'good feelings' after the opening talks.

Man Utd to sign Cunha?
Romano states that Man Utd are now officially leading the race to sign Cunha, who has a release clause worth around €73 million. However, the Italian has not revealed whether the Red Devils are looking to actually trigger this clause.
Man Utd are in well-known financial difficulties, and a lot of their summer business hinges on qualification for the Champions League by winning the Europa League.

Just earlier today, Romano himself stated that it is too early to make definitive predictions on which forward Man Utd will sign due to the ongoing sporting and financial uncertainty.
However, he did acknowledge that both Cunha and Wolves want the player's future to be resolved quickly. Newcastle remain interested in the Brazil international, and Romano states that Man Utd are aware that rival clubs are still keen.
