Confirmed: Man Utd initiate talks with KEY Arsenal target

Manchester United have reportedly made “initial contact” with Matheus Cunha’s representatives as they look to sign the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward this summer.
The 25-year-old is expected to leave Molineux before the beginning of the 2025-26 season and Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring his situation as they consider a possible summer deal.

However, the Gunners are currently focused on signing Nico Williams and Viktor Gyokeres, as they look to bring a left winger and a striker to the club, and Man Utd appear to have leapfrogged Mikel Arteta’s side in the race for Cunha’s signature.
The Red Devils are aiming to bring Cunha to the club amid their pursuit of attacking reinforcements and they have already engaged in initial contact with the Brazilian’s agent, as per talkSPORT.
Furthermore, Cunha’s agent is reportedly set to fly to England in order to initiate “face-to-face talks with potential suitors,” with Man Utd eager to finalise a deal amid the uncertain futures of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.

Matheus Cunha wants to leave Wolves
Confirmation of Man Utd’s interest in Cunha follows his recent admission that he wants to leave Wolves this summer in order to challenge for major honours.
The Brazil international signed a new long-term contract at Molineux in February, after rumours of an exit during the winter transfer window, but he has now confirmed that he is eager to depart the club when the 2024-25 campaign concludes.
“I had a lot of offers, but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” Cunha told The Guardian when asked why he chose to extend his Wolves contract rather than leave the club over the winter.
“Some things you can’t control, but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
Cunha has four years remaining on his new Wolves contract, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €60.8m.
