Manchester United are concretely interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, according to a report.

The England international is now back in sparkling form after overcoming his early-season slump. Eze and Crystal Palace at large struggled in the opening stages of the season after losing key players like Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen over the summer.

However, the Eagles are back with a vengeance and have enjoyed a spectacular upturn in form since October. Eze, too, is recapturing the level that saw him make the England squad for Euro 2024.

The 26-year-old recently netted for the Three Lions against Latvia and followed it up with a brilliant goal for Palace as they cruised past Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-final.

All told, Eze has found the back of the net six times for the Eagles this term, while providing nine assists. Six of those assists have come since December.

Man Utd want Eze

Last summer, Eze was persistently linked with a move away from Palace, but chairman Steve Parish later raised eyebrows when he expressed bemusement at the lack of actual offers for the attacking midfielder.

The speculation has continued to swirl. Eze has been associated with top Premier League clubs on and off all season, with Man Utd among the sides most frequently linked.

According to TEAMtalk, this is not surprising as the Red Devils are concretely interested in Eze. The England star is said to feature high on the club's shortlist of summer targets and Ruben Amorim is reportedly an admirer of the 26-year-old.

Palace, like Man Utd, play with a back-three, so the club's recruitment chiefs believe that he would be an ideal and obvious fit for Amorim's system.

The problem, of course, is that he won't come cheap. The report states that it will take at least €72 million just to get Palace to engage in negotiations, and this is a major hurdle for the cash-strapped Manchester giants.
