Xavi Simons sends transfer message to Man Utd

Xavi Simons has hinted that he will leave RB Leipzig during the 2025 summer transfer window amid significant interest from a number of top clubs across Europe.
The Netherlands international joined Leipzig on a permanent deal for €50 million in January, following a successful 18-month loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain, but he is set to depart the Bundesliga side ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Transfers Podcast understands that Manchester United are among the teams interested in acquiring Simons this year, and the Dutchman has now hinted that a summer exit is on the cards.
“I’m still a young player, I have many dreams - and the club knows that,” Simons admitted to Sky Germany.
“But right now, the most important thing for me is to play well in the upcoming games. Then we have the international matches, and after that we’ll sit down and see what happens.”

Xavi Simons to leave RB Leipzig
Simons is expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer and Duncan Castles revealed that a number of elite clubs are eager to sign him on the latest episode of The Transfers Podcast.
“Manchester United are also very interested in Simons,” Castles said. “Their problem is an obvious one in that they don't have much money to play with, certainly not the kind of money that Leipzig are looking at as a sell fee.

“They will need to win the Europa League and to qualify for the Champions League to be able to afford such a deal. But he's on a list of players that they're looking at.
“I'm also told that Liverpool have asked questions about the player. And again, you look at the style of his play and you could see why he would be a fit to the way Liverpool plays.
“I think everything is set up for a sale this summer if Leipzig can convince one of those clubs to come in and spend the money that they want for him.”
Castles added: “Bayern Munich have a long-standing interest in Simons, having tried to sign him last year, and he would be interested in going. I think he's trying to find out whether Bayern are ready to move for him again this coming summer.
“The guidance I have in Bayern Munich is that they are tight on financial fair play. They don't have a lot of money to play with unless they make sales. Which would suggest that [Florian] Wirtz would be difficult for them.”
Simons has 10 goals and six assists in 29 matches so far this season, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €79.9m.
