Man Utd told to pay 'over the odds' in transfer for Premier League flop that Amorim LOVES

Manchester United may have to pay ‘over the odds’ to secure a former Premier League flop identified as Ruben Amorim’s ‘key summer target’.
United have begun to plan for a busy summer in which the majority of their business will depend on sales of unwanted high earners such as Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Jude Bellingham ENDS €100m Man Utd rumour with emphatic message
With Amorim hoping for wholesale changes across his squad, United will be operating under tight constraints but they may have to fork out a significant fee to seal a move for their top attacking target.
That is according to talkSPORT, who claim that Amorim will turn to one of his star players at Sporting Lisbon in Francisco Trincao, whom he sees as an ‘essential attacking reinforcement’.
Trincao is understood to have a release clause of €60 million but the 25-year-old’s former club Barcelona are entitled to 50% of any sell-on fee, cutting Sporting’s profit on the deal dramatically.
Sporting are hoping to make €40m from Trincao’s sale and could look to force United to pay significantly more than the release clause to ensure their demands are met.

Sporting could renew Trincao contract before Man Utd sale
A return to the Premier League for Trincao would be intriguing, with Wolves having paid Barcelona €5m to avoid signing the winger permanently after an unsuccessful loan spell in the 2021/22 season.
However, since returning to Portugal, Trincao has recaptured his best form and is enjoying the most fruitful season of his career so far, netting eight league goals and 11 assists, but he is also entering the final year of his contract at Sporting.

Sporting may look to try and secure a new contract for Trincao in order to raise his release clause, with the Portuguese side not willing to lose their in-form forward on the cheap in the same summer that they will likely sell more of their stars.
The likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Ousmane Diomande could leave Sporting this summer and the Portuguese giants are determined to keep hold of Trincao or receive a suitable amount if he does leave.
Amorim is also managed Trincao at Braga and he is hoping his relationship with the player will carry United through negotiations even with rivals Manchester City also said to be interested in a deal.
