Man Utd transfer shock! Amorim hints at Old Trafford future for under-fire star

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has hinted that there could be an extra life for a Red Devils star who was previously thought to be heading out of the door at Old Trafford.
Casemiro played a leading role for Man Utd as they secured a scoreless Premier League draw at home against Manchester City.
Just a few weeks ago, though, the veteran Brazil international had been pinned to the bench. He failed to get a single minute of Premier League football in 2025 before the middle of February.
But Amorim singled out the 33-year-old for praise following the City draw.
“He wasn’t playing because I understood in the moment that he was not the best option to the way we want to play,” the Man Utd boss said. “But he continued to work. I look at my players in the same way. If they improve what we ask, they have the opportunity. If they play well, they continue to play. That was the situation of Casemiro. The credit is all to the player.”

Casemiro set to prolong his Man Utd adventure?
Could this be the signal for Casemiro to be taken off the transfer list ahead of the summer?
It appears unlikely at the moment, given that Amorim will want a young, more vibrant and mobile central midfielder in his ranks. But equally given the financial constraints that are likely to be placed on the club due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), these comments certainly open the door to the possibility.

Casemiro, who has a year to run on his contract, is very expensive and has been a player whose salary the Red Devils are looking to get off their books.
Man Utd set an asking price of €35 million for the player in January but were unable to find a buyer, with even clubs from the Saudi Pro League refusing to touch the former Real Madrid man due to the expense involved in a deal.
While Casemiro’s long-term future likely lies away from Old Trafford, a strong end to the season could reignite Saudi interest – and that can only be a good thing for Amorim’s side.
