Marcus Rashford’s Man Utd future revealed: Scenario that ‘suits everyone’ close

Marcus Rashford faces a summer of uncertainty as the Manchester United star does not yet know if Aston Villa will complete the buyout of his loan contract.
With the news that Barcelona have cooled their interest in the winger, doors are fast closing on the 27-year-old, who nevertheless believes that it is possible to remain at Man Utd – despite feeling that he will not get a chance under Ruben Amorim.
With rumours around the future of Rashford arriving thick and fast, Sky Sports’ Melissa Reddy has revealed the current state of play with the England international.
“Marcus Rashford hasn’t had any discussions over his future yet. He’s only planning on making a decision around mid-June. We do know that he has some preferences: that he wants to play for a club playing Champions League football.
“He has no willingness to move to London and to feature for one of the clubs there. I’m told very strongly that Rashford has no willingness to be involved in any part-exchange deal that Manchester United may be considering.
“He does have a good working relationship with Unai Emery, he’s content at Aston Villa and he loves how the club has unlocked his game. He feels like he’s in love with football again. Villa have a £40m option to sign Rashford permanently but they’ve not made a decision over whether they will action that.
“The feeling in the Rashford camp is that there will be a lot more suitors for him this summer than there was in the winter window. This might suit everyone. It gives him more options, but if there are more bidders, then United might get more than that £40m option that Villa have.”
Rashford planning for life after Man Utd
Rashford will not, however, be returning to Manchester United to play competitive football unless there is a miraculous turnaround.
“There was a complete breakdown in the relationship between Marcus Rashford and Ruben Amorim. The head coach didn’t appreciate his application or his attitude and the player wasn’t responding in the way he has under Unai Emery at Aston Villa,” Reddy revealed.
“Clearly, something isn’t working with Rashford and Man Utd. The club feel a fresh environment has worked wonders for him. The intention is to continue that on a permanent basis.

“The only way I can see him representing United competitively again, is if Amorim and a lot of senior executives are not at the club, and we know that’s not going to happen in the short term anyway.
“United are planning to bring in attackers this summer and they’ve factored a Rashford sale into that equation. Rashford is planning for a life after United, and they are very much planning for a life after him as well.”
