Marcus Rashford wants Man Utd return

Marcus Rashford wants to return to Manchester United after his loan deal with Aston Villa ends, former Old Trafford team-mate Wayne Rooney has sensationally claimed.
Rashford, 27, was instrumental for Villa as they overcame PSG 3-2 at Villa Park in the Champions League but exited the competition after a brave effort.
The attacker failed to get on the scoresheet, but he tormented the visiting defence, showing glimpses of his best form.
But while there are claims that Rashford is happier at the Birmingham club than he has been at Man Utd in recent years, Rooney believes that there is no doubt that the forward wants another crack at life at Old Trafford.
“Marcus Rashford wants to play for Manchester United – 100 per cent,” Rooney told Amazon Prime.
“He is a Manchester lad and fan. Over the last 18 months it has been difficult. He needed to play and it was clear he wasn’t going to play for the rest of the season – we could all see that.
“He has clearly shown, sometimes you have to keep banging on the manager’s door and put yourself in a position where he can’t leave you out.
“Marcus Rashford, in an ideal world, would want to play and leave a legacy at Manchester United.
“Whether that is going to happen, I don’t know, but it is what I would love to see as well.”
What has Emery said about Rashford?
Rashford may get his chance at Man Utd, with Villa boss Unai Emery admitting that it is tricky to say what the future holds for the England international.
“Signing him in the summer is difficult to plan now,” the Spaniard said. “He’s feeling comfortable and better. He played a fantastic match against PSG.
“If he’s happy, we are happy. Then, of course, it depends on the circumstances and what happens in the next weeks, and (what we have) in the next year as well.”
Aston Villa have a purchase option in the loan deal worth around €47 million (£40m), but it is believed they will struggle to match Rashford’s Man Utd wages, which could be a decisive sticking point in any deal.
