Tottenham set to sack Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to sack Ange Postecoglou this summer even if he guides the club to Europa League glory in May.
Spurs suffered their 18th defeat of the Premier League season against Nottingham Forest on Monday night to leave them languishing down in 16th place in the English top flight table after a dismal campaign under Postecoglou.

The 59-year-old has been linked with an exit for several months, amid Tottenham’s woeful form, and The Telegraph have now reported that Postecoglou is set to leave the north London club following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.
The Australian could extend his spell with Spurs if he is able to guide them to Europa League glory, and thus secure Champions League qualification, although there is reportedly a “growing sense” that Postecoglou will leave this summer regardless of the outcome of their European campaign.
Tottenham will face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League semi-finals in early May, while Athletic Club or Manchester United will await in the final if they are able to progress.

Who will Tottenham appoint as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement?
FootballTransfers understands that Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna was shortlisted as a potential replacement for Postecoglou back in December and Spurs could potentially rekindle their interest in the Northern Irishman if they opt to change managers this summer.
McKenna spent seven years in Tottenham’s academy as a player, before being forced to retire due to an ongoing hip injury, while he worked as a youth-team coach at the club after graduating from Loughborough University with a sports science degree.
Spurs are, however, unlikely to appoint Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola as Postecoglou’s successor.
The 42-year-old was identified as a top target by the Tottenham hierarchy, but The Transfers Podcast understands that he has rejected the opportunity to join the club after receiving an initial approach from Daniel Levy.
