AC Milan winger Rafael Leao is not looking to leave the Serie A club this summer, according to Italian media.

The Portugal international has endured his most difficult season in a Rossoneri kit this term, but he was a standout performer against Udinese on Friday, notching a goal and an assist in a 4-0 rout.

In the wake of the game, Leao reaffirmed his commitment to AC Milan after often coming under fire in what has been a dire season for the Serie A giants.

Indeed, because it has been such a disappointing campaign, a major reckoning is coming this summer. Igli Tare is set to become the club's new sporting director, and he will be tasked with appointing a new head coach, with Massimiliano Allegri currently among the favourites.

The futures of several of Milan's key players are uncertain, and Leao had been no different. However, Gazzetta dello Sport now reports that the 25-year-old will stay at the San Siro beyond this season.

Leao to stay at Milan

Previously, it was thought that Milan could cash in on the Portuguese should they fail to qualify for the Champions League, but the Italian publication now claims that all parties are convinced that Leao needs to stay put.

The winger, who has a whopping €175 million release clause, has attracted interest from Barcelona, Chelsea and, most recently, Arsenal. However, Leao is not looking to leave Milan this summer despite the frequent criticism of him this season.

Regardless of who gets the coaching job at Milan, Leao is determined to show that he deserves to be an undisputed starter, something which hasn't always been the case this season.

After a horrendous campaign, Milan are starting to make the first big decisions for 2025/26 and clearing up Leao's future is certainly among the biggest.
