Victor Osimhen tipped to complete shock transfer U-TURN

Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen this summer, according to reports in Spain.

The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, is almost guaranteed to leave Napoli on a permanent deal once the 2024-25 campaign concludes and he is wanted by multiple clubs across world football.

Several teams in Saudi Arabia are eager to land Osimhen this summer, and are prepared to match his salary demands of €15 million per year, while multiple clubs in the Premier League are monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal and Manchester United are both known admirers of the Nigerian, while FootballTransfers understands that Osimhen is open to joining Chelsea after his proposed move to Stamford Bridge fell through in 2024.

Furthermore, reports have indicated that Osimhen currently favours a Premier League transfer, despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.

However, the 26-year-old has been tipped to alter his transfer plans and move to Real Madrid by Fichajes.

The Spanish outlet claim that Real Madrid have now joined the race for Osimhen’s signature, amid concerns over Vinicius Junior’s long-term future with Los Blancos, and they are reportedly prepared to trigger the €75m release clause included in his current Napoli contract.

What has Victor Osimhen said?

Galatasaray are also interested in signing Osimhen on a permanent deal once his loan spell at the club expires this summer.

However, the Nigerian’s recent comments suggest that he is unlikely to remain in Turkey beyond the 2024-25 season.

“Galatasaray will always be in my heart,” Osimhen admitted to NTV.

“There are always rumours about me, I think about the present. I am enjoying this moment; the fans always support me. At the right time, the best decision for everyone will be made.”

Osimhen has scored 29 goals in 34 appearances since his arrival at Galatasaray, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €68.9m.
