Viktor Gyokeres 'requests' transfer as Arsenal receive major update

Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres has “requested” talks with Real Madrid, according to a bombshell report in Spain.
The Sweden international is widely expected to leave Sporting during the 2025 summer transfer window and Arsenal are believed to be the frontrunners in the race for his signature as things stand.

Mikel Arteta’s side are actively pursuing a new centre forward, amid concerns over whether Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are good enough to lead the club to Premier League glory, and Gyokeres is currently their priority target.
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko was previously viewed as Arsenal’s first-choice transfer option, although their interest in the Slovenia star has diminished slightly since the appointment of Andrea Berta as their new sporting director.
Arsenal are hoping to fend off competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for Gyokeres’ signature this summer, although Real Madrid could potentially pose an unexpected threat to the Gunners.

Viktor Gyokeres to Real Madrid?
In fact, Defensa Central claim that Gyokeres’ representatives have contacted Real Madrid over a possible summer transfer following a “request” from the Sporting superstar.

The 26-year-old is reportedly eager to secure a move to the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, although Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is unlikely to green light a transfer.
Kylian Mbappe and Endrick are already at the club, and Real Madrid are content with the current options at their disposal following news that Vinicius Junior is likely to sign a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, despite significant interest from Saudi Arabia.
Gyokeres has scored 91 goals in 97 appearances for Sporting and Arsenal are expected to intensify their pursuit over the next few weeks.
