The 20 richest clubs in the world
Manchester City have topped the Deloitte Football Money League 2023, the second time in succession the Premier League champions have finished as the richest football club in the world.
The 26th edition of the Deloitte Money League profiles the financial performance of the highest revenue-generating clubs in the world.
It is widely seen as being the most up-to-date and reliable independent analysis of the performance of the featured clubs.
The biggest takeaways from Deloitte Money List
Man City climbed to the top of the chart in 2022 for the first time, becoming just the fourth team in history to finish at the top of the list. They followed in the footsteps of Manchester United Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Premier League champions generated revenue of €731 million last year, up from €644.9m 12 months previous. This leap in revenue was largely driven by a dramatic increase in commercial income, which rose from €308m to €373m, while matchday income rose to €64m from virtually nothing during the previous period, which was during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the 2023 edition of the Money League was also noticeable for Liverpool overtaking Manchester United for the first time to finish third, with Real Madrid separating the two Premier League clubs on the podium.

United, meanwhile, dropped to fourth, with PSG rounding out the top five.
Bayern Munich were the top-performing Bundesliga side in sixth, just €0.6m behind PSG, while Barcelona slumped to seventh.
There was no Serie A club among the top 10 earners, but Juventus did manage to take 11th place, having recouped €400.6m in revenue.
Zenit St Petersburg and Aston Villa have dropped out of the list, having appeared in 2022, while Leeds and Newcastle both appear in the top 20.
The Money League is dominated by Premier League clubs, with the lucrative broadcast deals that they boast allowing them to take 11 of the top 20 spots, as well as 16 of the top 30 positions.
