What is Spain's World Cup squad?
Luis Enrique has officially announced Spain's 26-man squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, with Sergio Ramos, David de Gea and Thiago Alcantara among the players to miss out on selection.
Spain, who were knocked out in the group stages in 2014 and in the round of 16 in 2018, will be looking to build on their Euro 2020 performance after being knocked out at the semi-final stage by eventual winners Italy.
Enrique has picked the core of that squad to take to Qatar but has also included some fresh news faces to supplement the experience in the team.

Barcelona starlet Gavi, fresh from winning the Kopa Trophy, will be heading to his first World Cup, along with Athletic Club youngster Nico Williams, who only earned his first call-up earlier this season. Williams' brother Inaki will represent Ghana after choosing to play for the Ghanian national team rather than the Spain one.
Alvaro Morata is the only recognised striker in Spain's squad, although Barcelona's Ferran Torres has often been deployed down the middle for both club and country.
Despite injury problems in recent years, Ansu Fati has made the squad, along with club team-mates Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Pedri and the aforementioned Ferran Torres and Gavi.

Dani Carvajal and Marco Asensio are the only two Real Madrid players in the squad, with more Atletico Madrid players going on the plane - Morata, Koke and Marcos Llorente.
Robert Sanchez, David Raya, Cesar Azpilicueta, Aymeric Laporte, and Rodri make up the Premier League contingent, while Hugo Guillamon has made the squad with just three caps to his name so far.
The omissions of De Gea, Ramos and Thiago are the most notable in Spain's squad, while Fabian Ruiz, Iago Aspas and Marcos Alonso have all missed out too.
