Neymar and Ramos both ready to hand in PSG transfer requests
Neymar and Sergio Ramos could both leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, with reports suggesting that the pair are both ready to hand in a transfer request to leave the club.
Neymar was one of the players targeted by PSG ultras for criticism on Sunday during a Ligue 1 clash against Bordeaux. Indeed, he was even booed after the scored.
Following the Ligue 1 leaders’ 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League, which saw them spin out of the competition 3-2 on aggregate, fans vented their frustration during the weekend’s clash.
Neymar and Lionel Messi were notably booed by the crowd, who have grown frustrated by the lacklustre performance of both superstars, who have wholly failed to live up to their status and massive wages this season.
AS reports that both the Brazilian and Sergio Ramos, who has only managed to play five games for the club in more than six months because of injury, are ready to quit the club in the summer.
Neymar and Ramos would not be missed
The harsh truth is that PSG would miss neither.
Ramos would likely be given a free ticket to leave PSG, given that he has picked up more than €6 million in wages and has barely managed to take to the field in return.
Neymar’s case is more complicated, however. The Brazil international signed a contract with PSG last summer that runs until 2025. He is lavishly paid and it is unlikely that there will be many sides willing to take on that wage burden – particularly in light of the performances that he has produced for the duration of the last season.
Will Messi leave PSG?
According to AS, Messi will be retained by PSG, despite scoring only two Ligue 1 goals in six months. He has a two-year deal and with Kylian Mbappe also set to leave for Real Madrid, the project next season is set to revolve around the Argentine.
